Alcotraz: The Christmas Pardon

Immersive theatre in a prison run by its inmates, with live actors and four cocktails made from the spirit you smuggle in. This Christmas, one inmate each sentence walks out with a pardon. Christmas has found its way into Alcotraz. Naturally, it was smuggled in. New inmates this season arrive with a bottle and a present. The guards confiscate both at intake, and neither ends up where the paperwork says. Keep this between cellmates. Alcotraz is immersive theatre with a speakeasy canteen in it. Live actors play the Warden, their crooked guards and the inmates who really run the block. The guards will know what you’re celebrating before your “chicken soup” contraband cocktails arrive, and the Warden will have decided which of you is trouble. Take a job from the inmates and end up in the middle of the story, or sit in your cell with a drink and watch it unfold. Both are catered for, and nobody is dragged into anything. If the Warden asks what you’re drinking, it’s chicken soup. Not drinking? The mocktail option needs no bottle. The Christmas Pardon is the regular Alcotraz show, redecorated by the inmates for the season. The Governor has ordered one Christmas pardon each sentence. The Warden’s request to postpone it until next Christmas was refused. So the Warden judges the gifts personally, and whoever brought the best one walks out with a clean record and free tickets for six to come back in the new year.
