A Christmas Carol

this immersive and walking production is a unique holiday experience

A Christmas Carol Immersive Event - Main Image

Silicon Valley Shakespeare’s inaugural performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, adapted by the late Richard Orlando (Northside Theatre Company founder and Artistic Director), will take audience members back in time with Ebenezer Scrooge as he literally walks down memory lane. The cautionary tale of A Christmas Carol is a holiday tradition for many families. Dickens wrote his lauded story in 1843 as a way of condemning the rampant poverty of the Victorian age. And with the plight of the houseless increasing—especially in our Bay Area backyard—SVS' staging of this classic uniquely aligns with our ongoing mission of illuminating and inspiring audiences in an innovative way. Set against the expansive backdrop of History Park San José’s 14 acres of preserved and reproduced homes from a long-gone era, this immersive and walking production is a unique holiday experience for the entire family. Dress in your Dickens-inspired ensembles and be prepared to encounter A Christmas Carol like you have never seen it before! And we invite our audience to participate in a toy drive SVS is having, in connection with our community partner, Family Giving Tree; please scroll past the cast list for more information.
