Museum of the Hidden City

An immersive audio and Augmented Reality walk through San Francisco's quest for housing justice

San Francisco ,   California

Experience hosted by Walking Cinema

"The experience is meticulously planned and masterfully laid out...and tells a small segment of the history of one community in a small slice of one neighborhood in a large city. And yet in many ways it changed the way I look at that city and the world. Like those names etched in the concrete sidewalk, the history of a place is easy to ignore but never completely out of view, constantly threatened to be lost. With my reality newly augmented, the city is ever so slightly less hidden." - Brian Resler, No Proscenium. Take this free, smartphone-based walking tour of San Francisco's Fillmore district and dive into a poetic, historically-based story of an architect and a preacher's daughter trying to find justice and salvation as the city's iconic Black neighborhood is torn apart in the 1960's. The app can be experienced completely outside with no physical contact. You are invited into three indoor spaces that are optional and if you choose to enter you will be able to social distance. Suggested Times; TU-FR: 10AM - 4PM SA: 10:45AM - 5PM SU: 10AM - 3:30PM M: 10AM - 4:30PM (But one stop will be closed.) Download the free app for iPhone and Android here: http://www.seehidden.city.
