Have you ever experienced trail magic?
You’ve been following the blog of a current Appalachian Trail thru-hiker named Marianna and suddenly, after months of just reading about their adventures, they want to actually meet you in person. They’ve suggested you and a few of their other followers meet at a local gear shop while they’re in NYC. What will happen when you meet a person in real life that you’ve only known as a story? Hiker Trash is an immersive and highly interactive show for an intimate audience of 4. This piece takes place at Outlandish in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and will normally take place outside so dress accordingly for the weather. If there is rain however, the show will be moved inside. Please arrive 5 minutes early for your meeting with Marianna. Anyone arriving more than 5 minutes late will be welcome but might miss things. The majority of this piece will take place seated and will last approximately 45 minutes. Masks are not required but always welcome.

About Linked Dance Theatre
Linked Dance Theatre [LDT or Linked] is a contemporary performance art company that specializes in making Immersive and site specific art. LDT brings stories to life through movement, text, music, and everything related to the body. We believe that motions inspire emotions, which leads our collaborative creative process. Out of our practice then come staged and immersive works that subvert the conventional norms of what theatre or dance should or should not be. We like to lean in to the liminal, accentuate the odd, and build worlds that can allow for the mundane to extend into whimsical terrains that audiences can actually interact with. By pushing on the boundaries of theatrical convention, we strive to create works of art that are not only transitive but transformative in nature. We are often inspired by a specific space or a set of spaces to inform our work. We like to consider the space a character in the shows/worlds we build. Each performance created is intended to not only serve the space but also reflect a distinct element of our characters’ and audience’s humanity. We fully believe that artistry should be found everywhere, not just inside the four walls of a theater, but in odd and amazing spaces. By creating specifically for these spaces, we hope to open people’s eyes to landscapes they may not have explored before and to recontextualize familiar spaces in new ways.
