GRWM: an interactive TikTok horror story Immersive Event - Main Image

GRWM is an interactive TikTok narrative that explores the sinister implications of the unverified therapeutic content peddled on social media. Who should you trust with your psyche when you don’t trust yourself? Ava @avakatmills loves spinning her dumpster fire life into content gold with candid stories of problematic ex-boyfriends and dysfunctional parents. Who needs therapy when you have TikTok? This works for her until unsettling phenomena keeps interrupting her GRWM videos. As her trauma starts to take on a life of its own and haunt her, she wants to get better, but what does healing look like when your wounds are your personal brand? This interactive narrative is brought to you by Chloe Cole and Sabina Friedman-Seitz, two of the creators of the interactive narrative #NeverAlone, featured on AVClub's Best of Internet Horror list in 2020. The project spawned short film Zenith, which streamed on Shudder as part of the NYX 13 Minutes of Horror Film Festival.
