Exhibition Text: The printed image, seen from Etna. In the analog cultural landscape, creative organisms move through congealed backdrops and across stages that others have built. Only erosion or heavy equipment can alter the inorganic structures. Building materials are in limited supply and expensive. In some places, where the largest coherencies rub against each other, new liquid matter breaks through. This is because infinite material has accumulated beneath the cold surface, moving permanently in huge and tiny currents, mixing and existing in permanent liquefaction and friction. Where the new matter swells to the cold surface, it is deposited, slows down, solidifies and becomes the most fertile ground for orderly genre-economy.
