You will be processed, tried, and tested…but if you succeed, you may find Ascension." So reads the advertisement for a Los Angeles “immersive theater show” in 2016. Intrigued by murky images, leaked documents, and a missing woman from the “show”, Lawrence investigates, and uncovers a conspiracy to remake the lives of attendees in ways they will never escape. In this crackpot visceral thrill trip, TV writer/producer and master storyteller Lawrence Meyers (The Moth, Stranger than Fiction, Risk!, Sit n’ Spin, Taboo Tales, Spark Off Rose) spins a true monologue of curiosity, trust, betrayal, courage, and rebirth that will scramble your brain and make you question the line between your reality and another’s fiction.
